 The Pike has been so kind to as welcome us back for 3 consecutive months! Get out your pocket calendars and mark the dates: Thurs March 14th, Sat April 6th, and Sat May 4th. If you have never found yourself in Long Beach at the Pike, you're in for a treat: a full menu (we're chowing down the fish tacos!), a full bar including some fantastic brews, and a diverse clientele. Our latest video release takes us to the Adriatic Sea and the coast of Croatia. "Ukulele Dreaming," as the title suggests, brings the ukulele in to replace the twangy lead guitar for an easy, laid back ditty. Skippin' stones and dipping in the crystal clear water, a relaxing afternoon required a simple song to whistle along to. We recorded this day on an iPhone and GoPro back in 2017, and it brings us joy to have paired it with Ukulele Dreaming, a more than fitting soundtrack for these memories. You can find this tune on our album, Surfzilla! which is now streamable on iTunes/Apple Music and Spotify.  We don't know how to put this... BUT IT'S KIND OF A BIG DEAL. Sippin' Santa is a Holiday Pop Up created by Tiki Legend Jeff "Beachbum" Berry, and this year, it's at Lei Low Bar in Houston, Texas! We're flying in to Houston to chow down with the family before kicking off the colder holiday season on Sunday Nov. 25th. LeiLow will be debuting the Bum's Sippin' Santa menu at 2pm. We start the surf tunes at 6 pm. May we all get into the holiday spirits! *giggles*
 Just because spooky time ends midweek, it doesn't mean we're slowing down the festivities! We continue the party into the weekend, the first few days of November, with a couple of sets at one of our favorite live music joints, The Pike, in Long Beach on Friday around 9 PM. Tacos, beer, and music - What else do you need on a Friday night? Luckily, there are options in their restaurant and bar if you do need more!
We follow it up with a couple of more sets on Saturday evening from about 5-7pm at Pacific City in Huntington Beach. Shopping, dining, music, and a sunset. Voila ! A simple enough time. Two nice opportunities to catch up with us before the holidays really kick into gear, which means even more travel for us. We'll let you know about a rum-soaked show we're planning in Houston for Thanksgiving weekend. Oooh yeaaaah. Tiki drinks and twang. Wink-wink. PAR AVION is going to help Thorn Brewing Co. rock the house this Sunday in San Diego [Barrio Logan to be exact] as they celebrate their first anniversary! This is a FREE family friendly event. Other live music will be provided by Ezekiel Morphis (12-1 pm) and Camino Paz (1:30-3:30) with us wrapping it up from 4-5 pm. Delicious food from The Friendly and Dos Tierras tacos, crafts and games- bourbon barrel-aged ring toss, pumpkin decorating, a costume contest, brewery tours y más! Thorn Brewing Co (in Barrio Logan) 1745 National Ave San Diego, CA 92113  Par Avion is putting on their grass skirts this weekend and heading over to the Tiki Luau at... well, The Grass Skirt. This is the same gang behind the delightful rum drinks in the hot 'n sweaty room party we played at Tiki Oasis, and boy, did we enjoy ourselves! The event will include a colorful variety of eats, hula dancers, us noise-makers playing two juicy sets, a snake dancer, a fire dancer, a variety of yummy cocktails, and probably maybe San Diego legend, Ron Burgundy. Par Avion can vouch for their drinks too. Rebecca and Bernard have been very much in awe of what they serve up. They are delicious and well-balanced works of art. Please consider joining us for a long day of revelry in America's finest city (Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego *pronounced: Deeaaago*, which, of course, in German means ... ). Once at a Crowne Plaza penthouse party on Saturday night and once poolside, also at the Crowne Plaza, at noon on Sunday. Saturday should find us raring to go crazy as we have not been in San Diego in ages. We have a lot of friends and family there. Sunday should find us bright-eyed and bushy tailed given recent travels to Europe (jet lag baby!). Our travels included shows in the Valencia area with Five Fingers with Parasol and shows near Bilbao with The Longboards(more to come on that). We’re bringing that stoke back home to San Diego!

Five Fingers With Parasol are super fun with good twists added to trad surf along with a creative touch to their merch (inspiring!). Despite the many friends in common, we met them through Sergio who only recently joined the band and kills it as, what Bernard is calling, the "Entwistle of surf" although he moves around a lot more. Thanks guys for helping make Par Avion's adventures all the more fun. We will do it again! With some luck, we will post some video soon from this fun street party.
ESPAÑA!!!! We are very excited about our return to Spain. All of this comes as the result of much help from very special friends; some Bernard met through his crazy rock and roll times with the Fuzztones, but some also came to us through the love of the greater surf music community. Sergio, Miguel, Jordi, Alfredo, Eva are just some of the folks who have opened their doors to us (lent us gear, cooked us paella!!! and so much more). This will be our third year playing in Valencia and this time we are adding a gig in Benicassim. These two will be with our friends, Five Fingers with Parasol. Stay tuned for gigs near Bilbao in early August as well with The Longboards. Having finally rested a little after 34 shows all over Europe with the BellRays (Bernard as their bassist) we are ready to have some instro fun! We recently recorded in Los Angeles with renown trailer music composer Yoav Goren of Immediate Music for a special release. Although intended for film and TV licensing, we hope to have this music available for our friends to enjoy. It’s Par Avion with some serious production touches! Enjoy this video from our sessions - wink wink. DOWN THE ROAD In celebration of our return to the US in early August, we will be performing at Tiki Oasis. Our set is scheduled for the Sunday morning “open house” (which means FREE!). More on that as the date approaches. Let's celebrate the summer! |
